NEW MILFORD — It's been almost a decade since Johanna Canafe moved from Cuenca, Ecuador to Connecticut. She is now sharing her Ecuadorian roots with the New Milford community through her shop, ECUA-Variedades, which opened April 16 at 145 Danbury Road. A New Milford resident for the last four months, Canafe said she misses her country's dishes — such as rice, beans and guinea pig —but she likes the quietness surrounding New Milford. 'I'm so happy because it's a very nice town,' Canafe said of New Milford.
